Longmeadow police investigating robbery at Berkshire Bank

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Longmeadow police are investigating a robbery at the Berkshire Bank on Longmeadow Street Monday morning.

Longmeadow Police Chief Robert Stocks told 22News officers were called to the bank around 11:00 a.m. for a report of a robbery. Longmeadow police secured the area as Massachusetts State Police began investigating the incident.

A bank personnel told police the suspect entered the bank around 11:00 a.m. and handed them a note demanding money. By 11:02 a.m., the suspect had left the bank possibly into an awaiting silver or light blue Honda CRV.

The suspect is described as a white man approximately 5’5″ or 5’6″ in height, heavy set, wearing a black mask and black clothing. The driver of the vehicle that possibly picked up the robbery suspect is unknown at this time.

No one was injured in the robbery and there is no threat to the community, Chief Stocks said. If anyone has any information on the bank robbery, you are asked to contact Longmeadow Police at 413-567-3311.
