4 PM UPDATE: EMSA has responded to 26 car crashes as of 4 p.m. Monday, nearly two-and-a-half times the number of accidents expected on a typical Monday morning.
EMSA says seven patients had to be taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries due to crashes.
They have also responded to two cold exposure calls and transported one patient to the hospital due to symptoms.

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) --- EMSA has responded to 21 car crashes as of 11 a.m. Monday, nearly five times the number of accidents expected on a typical Monday morning.
EMSA says five patients had to be taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries due to crashes.
Most crashes are happening around bridges, overpasses, highways, and interstates.
Drivers should take extra precautions if planning to travel in icy conditions.
