Firefighter suffers minor burns as crews fight house fire in Bronx

MORRISANIA, Bronx (WABC) -- One firefighter was burned while battling a house fire in the Bronx on Monday.

NewsCopter 7 was over 843 Freeman Street where smoke could be seen pouring from the roof.

The fire started in the basement of the home before it quickly spread around 11 a.m.

The firefighter's injuries were described as a minor burn and he was taken to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment.

Four residents who live in the building were left homeless, but firefighters kept the flames from spreading to any other homes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Few other details were released.
