CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police said they believe the same crew is behind more than a dozen armed robberies that took place on the South Side in under two hours over the weekend.

Authorities said the armed robbery crew carried out their crimes between 11 p.m. Saturday night and 12:50 Sunday morning. The 13 robberies took place in the Kenwood, Oakland, Bronzeville and Bridgeport neighborhoods.

The first hold-up happened on 46th Street and Woodlawn Avenue. Authorities said the last robbery occurred in the 700 block of East 41st Street.

Police said the robbers pulled up in a vehicle near the victims, got out with guns and ordered the victims to give up their belongings.

The suspects were wearing dark clothing and used a black SUV and a red sedan as getaway vehicles, police said.
