On Friday, November 16th, 1945, the weather was clear and cold, hovering near freezing in the morning and edging up to 44 degrees for the day’s high. It was a perfect day to go swimming at Roosevelt Pool in Susanville. Roosevelt was the first and only indoor public pool in the area, and its warm geothermally heated water was a delight for swimmers.
