Briefly drying out today with more rain likely the rest of the week
SEE A BREAK IN THE RAIN TODAY FOR MOST OF US. THAT BEING SAID, IT STILL MAY BE A LITTLE DAMP AND MISTY THIS MORNING WHERE WE ARE SEEING SOME LOW CLOUDS AND FOG AND JUST A SLIGHT CHANCE AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY TODAY. BUT OVERALL, IT IS GOING TO BE A LOT DRIER THAN IT WAS YESTERDAY. BUT WE STILL HAVE A LOT OF UNSETTLED WEATHER FOR THE THE WEEK AHEAD, MEANING SOME RAIN SHOWERS EXPECTED AT TIMES. THE NEXT FEW DAYS, ESPECIALLY AS WE HEAD INTO THURSDAY WHEN WE’RE EXPECTING MORE WIDESPREAD AND SOME HEAVIER RAIN. AND THEN FOR TOMORROW, IT LOOKS LIKE WE’RE GOING TO SEE A PRETTY BIG RANGE IN OUR TEMPERATURES, MEANING THERE’S GOING TO BE A HUGE TEMPERATURES SPREAD NOT ONLY TOMORROW MORNING, BUT TOMORROW AFTERNOON. AND IT’S GOING TO BE A LOT COLDER IN THE NORTHERN COUNTIES AND THEN REALLY FAIRLY MILD AS YOU GO FURTHER SOUTH. SO LET’S START OFF THIS MORNING. THIS IS 7 A.M. AND MOST OF US ARE IN THE FIFTIES. AND I THINK JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY GETS INTO THE SIXTIES FOR HIGHS LATER TODAY. WELL, KEEP THE CLOUDS AND YOU CAN SEE AROUND 4:00 THIS AFTERNOON, THE FEATURE CAST SHOWING A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT GREEN ON THE MAP. SO THERE MAY BE A FEW SHOWERS AROUND. AND THEN BY TUESDAY MORNING, AS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY STARTS TO SHIFT A LITTLE FURTHER SOUTH. DAYBREAK ON TUESDAY. THERE COULD BE SOME SPOTS IN THE THIRTIES IN OUR NORTHERN COUNTIES AND OTHERS THAT ARE STARTING THE DAY TOMORROW IN THE 50. AND THEN THAT THEME IS GOING TO CONTINUE REALLY THROUGH THE AFTERNOON, NOON ON TUESDAY WITH SOME OCCASIONAL RAIN SHOWERS AROUND. IT’S GOING TO BE A MUCH CHILLIER DAY HERE IN NORTH ALABAMA WITH HIGHS IN THE FORTIES, PROBABLY SOME LOW IN MID-FIFTIES IN THE METRO AREA. AND THEN MAYBE EVEN FLIRTING WITH 60 DEGREES AS YOU GET DOWN INTO PARTS OF BIBB AND CHILTON COUNTY. SO THAT’S GOING TO BE TOUGH TO KIND OF SAY, HEY, EVERYBODY’S GOING TO SEE HIGHS IN THE FIFTIES. THERE WILL JUST BE A RANGE FOR TUESDAY. AND THEN YOU CAN SEE SOME ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AROUND TUESDAY EVENING INTO TUESDAY NIGHT, TOO. SO NOT A HUGE CHANCE FOR RAIN TODAY. TOMORROW INTO WEDNESDAY, WE’LL HAVE SOME OCCASIONAL RAIN SHOWERS AROUND, BUT WIDESPREAD RAIN EXPECTED AS WE HEAD INTO THURSDAY WITH SOME OF THAT HEAVIER RAIN. NOT MUCH SHOWING UP ON WVTM 13. LIVE DOPPLER AT THIS HOUR AGAIN FOR TEMPERATURES THAT WILL VARY TOMORROW. LOOKS LIKE WE’LL BE IN THE FIFTIES, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY WITH HEAVIER RAIN. THURSDAY DRIER OVER THE WEEKEND. RICK.
