April Verwers, President of the Marion County United Way tells KNIA/KRLS their campaign currently is about one-third of the way to their goal.

The 2023 goal for the organization is $60,000. The United Way supports three impact areas, education, health and human services. 

The local United Way plans to support 13 agencies in Marion County. Verwers listed a few of the groups who receive funds, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Handicapped Equipment Lending, Families First, Senior Citizen’s Center and Montgomery Street Pre-School.

Anyone wishing to help the local United Way can do so by sending a check to PO Box 577 in Knoxville.
