A weak weather system will bring a few rain and snow showers this evening into tonight

Good monday morning. It's *** quiet start to the workweek, but there is *** weak weather system that will bring some rain or snow showers to much of new Hampshire later this afternoon into this evening, the system is gaining *** little bit of strength this morning over parts of Michigan and the Great Lakes region and this will swing through parts of northern New England later on today. Now with temperatures that are near freezing this morning, we're in pretty good shape though any wet untreated roads, especially across the north country might be *** little bit slick for the next couple of hours. Clouds will start to build today as our temperatures warm close to 40 degrees this afternoon by around 78 o'clock this evening. That's when the first round of some showers arrives, at least in southern New Hampshire, Northern and western zones may see those showers move in closer to four five o'clock this afternoon. It should be cold enough, especially north of Manchester, that we'll see mostly snow and as *** result there could be *** few spots to pick up *** quick slushy coating to as much as an inch of snow, temperatures might still be *** few degrees above freezing in far southern New Hampshire. So at least initially this evening we'll see *** few scattered areas of drizzle or light rain showers before some colder air takes over tonight and there could be *** few mixed or snow showers by around midnight or so. Most of the action moves out during the wee hours of Tuesday morning and the early morning clouds should break forward developing sunshine tomorrow, as our temperatures will be *** few degrees colder than today. Teens to twenties north tonight near 30 through the Merrimack Valley and along the sea coast. Highs tomorrow will top off near 20 north, mid to upper twenties Lakes region Upper Valley right around freezing in much of southeastern New Hampshire as well, *** little bit of afternoon sunshine. Then we're keeping an eye on some impact weather for late week. This includes both friday and saturday as some of the coldest air we've seen so far this season moves in and this is going to be *** very quick but intense blast of arctic air, actual temperatures could be close to zero friday night and saturday and with *** gusty wind, it could feel several degrees below zero, likely on the order of at least 20 to 30 degrees below zero. Here's the thing, the real core of the arctic air this winter has been tucked up near the arctic circle so far this season, but finally, blast is going to come in so straight out of northern Canada right into New England. And this is *** classic setup for *** very cold stretch of weather here. Late week highs are in the thirties to near 40 today with building clouds and *** few late day snow showers drive for Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures turn *** bit colder. *** few northern flakes possible late thursday as the arctic front approaches and then it will turn very cold friday and saturday. As I mentioned, it's brief. By the end of the weekend, our temperatures are back near freezing.
