Fire crews from Kansas City and Raytown, Missouri were called to battle a large grass fire outside GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium after Sunday night's big win.
Crews were called to a field near entrance 7 at Arrowhead at 9:48 p.m. to try to control a large grass fire not long after the Kansas City Chiefs celebrated a huge AFC Championship win.
Authorities believe fireworks from the game may have caused that grass fire. However, they have not determined an exact cause.
A spokesperson for the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department said the department plans for incidents like this one as a precaution. The spokesperson said crews were able to make quick work of the majority of the fire to bring it under control.
Dry conditions, winds, and a lack of a water source made this incident challenging.
No injuries have been reported.
