Some NBA teams project as more likely to make moves than others. Moreover, there are obvious potential buyers and obvious potential sellers.

With Luka Doncic on their roster, the Dallas Mavericks obviously fall into the former group. 

By contrast, the 23-28 Toronto Raptors land in the latter club. This is a team that many expect to make a major fire sale this season. Meanwhile, Gary Trent Jr. may be the most obvious trade candidate of all. 

Don’t look now, but the NBA’s trade deadline is rapidly approaching. On the day of the deadline, there’s always movement—lots of it.

At the same time, the deadline is close enough to say that we’re officially on trade watch. Trent very well could be among the players on the move.
