Mike Trout's attendance at the NFC Championship inspired so many jokes about the Angels

The best player in baseball — and arguably the best in baseball history, depending on whom you talk to — is Mike Trout. And despite being a near-superhuman baseball player, Trout has never played for a true contending team and has little chance of that changing as long as he plays for the Angels.

But Trout — who grew up just outside Philadelphia in New Jersey — loves the Eagles, and he rarely passes up on an opportunity to see the Eagles in postseason games. Sunday’s game was no exception.

As Fox cut to commercial after the Eagles took a 7-0 lead in the NFC Championship, they showed Trout cheering on his hometown team.

In his entire big-league career, Trout has played in three postseason games. The Angels haven’t made the playoffs since 2014, and Trout basically can’t go anywhere without the subject coming up.

He essentially got roasted on Twitter for enjoying this rare playoff experience in the life of Mike Trout.

This was how Twitter reacted

Let the man enjoy his Eagles. He’ll be getting a head start on spring training with the Super Bowl trip to Arizona too.
