Things have gone south for Mississippi State baseball in a hurry. The Bulldogs were National Champions two years ago, but have since seen things fall into the depths. After finishing last in the SEC a season ago with just nine conference wins, State is on the verge of having an even worse finish this year after an 0-6 start to the year.

Talkin' Dawgs: Mississippi State baseball is in trouble

Some were surprised when Dakota Jordan passed on the Major League Baseball draft in favor of a college future at Mississippi State. Even more were surprised when Jordan began the year as the Bulldogs' three-hole hitter. Jordan has appeared in seventeen games this season. He has at least one hit in a dozen of those games. Last night against Samford, Jordan was back in the starting line-up after a short hiatus. The former Jackson Academy star came through with his first three-hit game on the college level and the go ahead RBI in a 9-4 victory.
