Two men were arrested for allegedly tampering with vehicles in Sparks and possessing burglary tools.

Sparks Police Department officers responded to the 2100 block of Glendale Ave. for a possible vehicle burglary in progress around 6 a.m. on Jan. 29. The reporting party told the Sparks Communications Center that he was watching two men on security surveillance cameras and it appeared they were tampering with or breaking into vehicles at his business.

Officers received descriptions of the suspects as they arrived in the area. They found the suspects and began to investigate the allegations. During their investigation, authorities say the officers developed probable cause to arrest the two men.

The first suspect was identified as Christopher Bruffett, a 35-year-old white man from Sparks.

The second suspect was identified as Vincent Wilks, a 25-year-old black man from Reno.

Both suspects were charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools. Sparks police say both suspects are on active parole or probation with Nevada Parole and Probation.

Officials with the Sparks Police Department say more charges are pending further investigation.
