Jennifer Lopez nearly fell off a cliff filming a stunt for her action rom-com, Shotgun Wedding.

In what sounds like an advert for leaving it to the stunt performer, the actress and co-star Josh Duhamel almost fell when a stunt went wrong after her dress got caught in a wheel.

The cast of the movie were interviewed by BuzzFeed Celeb and, when asked who they thought could nail a stunt in the first take, Lopez shared the almost accident.

"Me and Josh got pretty good at it [the stunts]. Especially when we were handcuffed together and we had to do all that crazy stuff.

"Except for the one time I almost went over the cliff," she added. "That wasn't fun."

Her co-stars demanded an explanation, so she opened up about what happened: "So, you know how in that scene where my dress was caught on the wheel? One time it got caught in the wheel, and I was going over, and I'm looking at Josh. I'm like, 'Josh, Don't let me go, please!'"

In the movie, Lopez and Duhamel play a couple on the rocks who are due to tie the knot at an exotic location, though the nuptials take a shocking turn when the guests are taken hostage, with the engaged pair forced to work together to save the day.

Shortly before filming began on Shotgun Wedding, Armie Hammer, who was originally cast as Lopez's love interest, quit due to a social media controversy.

His role in the film was recast after unverified explicit messages that were alleged to be linked to Hammer were shared on social media.

The actor has disputed the legitimacy of the messages, announcing in a statement shared by The Wrap: "I'm not responding to these bulls*** claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I'm grateful to them for that."

Shotgun Wedding is available to watch now on Prime Video.
