A woman has been charged after being accused of trafficking drugs.
The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office reports their Narcotics Unit (VICE) investigation into Rebecca Elizabeth Whitesides *AKA-LIBBY* for large-scale drug trafficking has been closed.
Officials say detectives were conducting surveillance on Whitesides on Jan. 18 when she led detectives into South Carolina. After requesting assistance from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, officials say Whitesides was pulled over for a motor vehicle violation.
During the stop, the sheriff's office says in a press release that "detectives located 2 Kilos (4.4 Pounds) of Methamphetamine that was being transported back to Rutherford County."
Whitesides was arrested and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine. Officials say she was taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
