Clark County deputies were called to a pair of crashes within two hours on Saturday afternoon, and the sheriff’s office said the drivers involved may have been driving recklessly ahead of both collisions.
The first crash was reported at about 3:30 p.m. along NE Manley Road outside Battle Ground. First responders arrived to find two people trapped inside of a silver Infinity sedan with serious injuries.
Crews worked to free the driver and passenger, and both were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. There was no immediate word on their condition.
Witnesses said they saw the vehicle, which had an identifiable black fender, driving recklessly in the area before the crash, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said.
While still investigating that crash, deputies were dispatched to a second crash that happened at about 5:30 p.m. along NE 139th Street in Brush Prairie, where someone a green lifted 1978 Ford Bronco went off the road and rolled.
The sheriff’s office said that driver “had also been driving recklessly before leaving the roadway.”
Deputies said the driver showed signs of impairment, and that the people inside the vehicle required “major extraction” before being taken to the hospital. Authorities didn’t say how many people were involved in the crash or the extent of their injuries.
