State police investigate shooting during traffic stop in East Feliciana Parish

ETHEL, La. (BRPROUD) – Louisiana State Police are investigating an East Feliciana Parish deputy shooting a driver after reportedly being hit by a vehicle on Saturday, Jan. 28.

State police say the deputy initiated a traffic stop at 7:30 p.m. on a Honda Accord. The deputy was reportedly hit by the vehicle during the stop. The deputy then pulled out his weapon and shot the driver.

Both the deputy and the driver were taken to the hospital with minor and moderate injuries. According to LSP, more information will be released as the investigation continues.
