BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Happy Sunday! Tonight, temperatures will get in to the low 50s and some areas will reach the upper 40s for an overnight low. There is still a chance for showers throughout the rest of your Sunday and into Monday morning. Here’s how to prepare for the week: keep rain gear and umbrella handy and drive carefully! Avoid any ponding on the roads. Monday morning will start cloudy with some lingering showers.

Monday Work-Cast(WBRC)

Monday: After 11 AM, we’ll be mostly dry but still really cloudy. Daytime highs Monday will be noticeably warmer and get in to the low 60s and drop Monday night into the upper 40s. Tuesday brings us more scattered showers during the morning hours and more widespread rain Tuesday night. The rain will carry overnight into early Wednesday morning. Wednesday daytime highs will be in the 50s.

Chance for a few thunderstorms Thursday: There is a chance for thunderstorms Thursday, but it does not look like a severe weather set up as of now. This disturbance could bring us some heavy rain and localized flooding that we are keeping on our radar and paying attention to for the start of February. I wouldn’t rule out the opportunity for some rumbles of thunder and gusty winds. We’ll fine tune the storm chances as we approach Thursday.

Friday and Saturday: Most rain moves past us by Friday and Saturday. These short disturbances exit eastward, and dry air will filter in for Central Alabama. I also want to give you a First Alert for cooler nighttime temperatures Friday night. Temperatures may be near freezing for an overnight low into Saturday morning.
