Drive-by shooting leaves Wichita woman critically injured

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A drive-by shooting early Sunday morning left a 57-year-old Wichita woman critically injured.

According to the Wichita Police Department, officers were dispatched at 3:35 a.m. to the report of a shooting in the 1400 block of S. George Washington Blvd.

Upon arrival, officers say they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her upper body.

According to the WPD, she was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

Wichita police say an investigation revealed that several shots were fired at the home from outside, and one round hit the victim. Also inside were a 4-year-old girl, a 10-year-old girl and a 36-year-old man.

Police say this is not a random incident.
