Macedonia – Community Focus has added a new monthly show titled “Y Not Chess?”

Host Tony Dunlap Sr. is a chess enthusiast and instructor whose lifelong passion for the game inspires him to share it with others.

Chess enthusiast and instructor Tony Dunlap Sr. will host a new monthly show, “Y Not Chess?”

The first show begins with an introduction to the game, including a description of the board and pieces, rules and keys to understanding and improving strategy, while encouraging positive sportsmanship. Dunlap will end each monthly episode with a chess puzzle where viewers determine the next move to try to win a prize.

“Y Not Chess?” is a natural progression for Dunlap’s teaching expertise. He instructs in area churches, boys and girls clubs, recreation centers, libraries, multiple school districts and now on television. Beyond encouraging young people to use their minds and to improve their decision-making processes, his goal is to get people interested in making chess a hobby and relaxing diversion in fun and entertaining 30-minute segments.

New episodes air monthly on Spectrum channel 1021 Sundays at 11 a.m., Mondays at 5 p.m., Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and Fridays at 6:00 a.m. Or watch any time at http://mycommunityfocus.app.
