An investigation is underway for a shooting that left one teenager injured, North Las Vegas police say.
On Saturday, at about 5:55 p.m., the North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) received a report of a shooting in the 3000 block of Logan Ave. Responding officers located a juvenile male, who is believed to be in his late teens, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the juvenile victim to UMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation led by the NLVPD Detective Bureau indicated that a juvenile male suspect had shot the victim and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle before the officer’s arrival.
According to police, the suspect was later taken into custody by NLVPD officers nearby, and the stolen vehicle was recovered.
The suspect was transported to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center, where he was booked for attempted murder and possession of a stolen vehicle with additional pending charges.
NLVPD said because the suspect is a juvenile, his identity will not be released.
This is an ongoing investigation.
