For 24-year-old Timothy Pouliot's mother, Michelle, the loss of her son, is simply too much to bear.
"Why did they have to take him?" His mother, Michelle Pouliot, asked through tears.
Early Saturday morning, the Manchester native's life was cut short, when he was shot outside a bar, following a dispute at The Goat Bar and Grill, according to investigators.
Pouliot had a passion for helping others, according to his family, and he loved Taekwondo and mentoring children.
"It's like a dream — it doesn't make sense why he's not here," his father, Alan Pouliot, said.
"He inspired everybody. Everybody loved him," Michelle added.
On Saturday, dozens of friends and family members gathered by candlelight in Manchester to remember Pouliot's life.
"There's so much love here ... one person can have an impact on a community," Alan Pouliot said as he looked around at the crowd.
Pouliot's family has been left devastated by the shooting, telling News 9 they simply do not understand what could have transpired on Saturday that could have caused such violence to occur.
The suspected shooter, John Delee, 22, of Salem, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
"Put the guns down," Michelle Pouliot said.
As they mourn their son, his family said they hope the 24-year-old will be remembered for all the kindness he put forth within the community and towards those he loved.
"He would speak about positivity, growth and development and just being the best self you can be," said Kiara Mckenzie.
