James Harden explains coming off the bench mid-play in Sixers' win

Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports

In the third quarter of Saturday’s 126-119 win for the Philadelphia 76ers over the Denver Nuggets, there was a bizarre moment when James Harden was on the bench and ran onto the floor mid-play to help on the defensive end. He ended up getting a deflection.

The officials then realized what was going on and called the play dead. Philadelphia was hit with a technical foul for having only four men on the floor, It appears to have been a simple mistake by the Sixers.

Afterward, Harden’s former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Serge Ibaka called Harden out, wondering what The Beard was doing on the play in question.

Harden responded that there was some miscommunication, but he was obviously happy that the Sixers walked away with the win.

Harden had 17 points and 13 assists in the victory, which is the seventh in a row for the Sixers. They look to keep things going in the right direction on Monday when they host the Orlando Magic.
