Suns Sink Spurs in Saturday Night Overtime Showdown

The Phoenix Suns were able to get back on track with a road victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night.

The Phoenix Suns were able to get back over .500 with a 128-118 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. Phoenix now has a 26-25 record after having won their last five-of-six games while San Antonio extends their losing streak to five, now victorious in their last 2-of-15 games.

This was Phoenix's first OT game since Christmas Day vs. Denver and their fourth total on the season.

The Suns were able to grab an early lead and never relinquished it despite San Antonio keeping it fairly close throughout.

The Spurs never trailed by more than 13 while managing to tie the game with 47.8 seconds remaining at 110-110. That was the first tie since the opening quarter when the squads were tied 11-11.

The game then went into overtime where Phoenix built an eight-point lead and never looked back.

Four Suns starters scored in double-digits, as Torrey Craig was the lone player with just eight points, though he did convert a late three-pointer in the fourth quarter to ultimately keep Phoenix in the game.

Chris Paul was one of three suns to hit 20+ points with a team-leading 31 points. The last time he paced Phoenix in points was Nov. 4 vs. Cleveland but he has now scored at least 20 in his last six-of-nine games. Mikal Bridges (25) and Deandre Ayton (23) also helped in scoring tonight.

Keldon Johnson (34) and Jeremy Sochan (34) combined for over 60 points for San Antonio, which marked Sochan's career high.

Both teams shot less than 35% from downtown and under 80% from the free throw line.
