Metro investigating woman’s death in Spring Valley as homicide

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police are investigating the death of a woman who was found in a residence Saturday morning in the Spring Valley area as a homicide.

The woman, identified as 41-year-old Yanet Rivera, died by strangulation “with other significant conditions,” according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Police said they discovered Rivera after 9 a.m. in the 3800 block of Mapleview Court, south of West Twain Avenue and west of South Tenaya Way. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to suspected foul play, the homicide section is investigating this death, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said Sunday in a news release.
