Frontier Communications Service Down for about 4,500 Customers
Thousands of phone customers are without service in Trinity County
According to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, they have learned “that Frontier Communications lines are down for approximately 4,500 people. Cellphones should be able to make phone calls. We will provide an update when we have further information.”

ATT has been working on cell towers causing intermittent outages lately also.
That’s funny, Trinity County says should be able to make cell calls, No Cell Service In Hawkins Bar, Salyer, Burnt Ranch Dummies. No Cell Tower!!.
big news, our frontier line has been down since 12-11-22. 6 missed appointments, obviously bad equipment, ancient system, crappy customer service (with an even worse on live chat one, yes it is possible) last upgrade was from edison’s estate sale. i don’t know about their cell service, but landline is so bad, it probably isn’t going to get any better in the future.
i know one customer that has been out since 12-11-22, me. frontier is the epitome of non-service.
My Frontier service has has issues since December. The techs keep rescheduling the repair appointments, once a week, since the end of December. I think they are never going to fix it.
Here’s some knowledge about Frontier, Hughesnet and another rural internet provider. They are being sued by the FCC for taking a multi billion dollar grant to provide internet for rural communities. The lawsuit is due to the companies installing out dated tech. They are supposed to be installing high speed broad band but are instead installing old slow satellite technology. The modems are slow cheap crap that you have to pay 16$ extra per month to rent from them. It’s a$40 modem that they make you pay $192 a year for. They throttle your speeds through that cheap modem.
They limit your usage and it’s very slow.
I bought a We Boost brand cellphone booster for $500. They make cheaper ones. A trucker buddy turned me on to them. I now have a 5g signal on my phone. I have an unlimited data plan with a hotspot. Everyone in the house has full highspeed internet, whereas I never had a signal on my property.
This bit of tech has been saving me $110 a month for 5 years. Streaming movies in 4k.
Starlink is excellent too but weBoost is cheaper in the long term.
It’s super portable, we’ve taken it to Usal beach and it works there. So does starlink but there’s a monthly charge.
