Linda Wabs was our Everyday Hero last summer. Since then, her team of volunteers has grown to five members.
They call themselves the 'Bottledrop Ladies' because it is where they go to meet and care for homeless people.
Five days a week, they pack up donated items like food, sleeping bags, and shoes, load up their cars, and drive to the Bottledrop in Milwaukie.
Jamie Berry is a new addition to the team. She and Linda connected over their shared passion for giving.
"Our goal was to meet them where they are at. We don't want to push them into anything. If they want information and resources, we can provide for them."
Information is also a crucial resource in short supply for some homeless people, especially this time of year.
"What I try to emphasize to people is the folks we work with don't know when weather is going to turn . There are no flashing billboards or beware signs. So we try and be a messenger and let them know hey next week it's going to be in the 20's. Do you need handwarmers. I try to tell them where the shelters are."
With temperatures in the metro forecasted to drop significantly next week, the Bottledrop Ladies are handing out lots of socks, shoes, hats and whatever they can to help.
