Structure fire in Fort Myers Friday afternoon

The Fort Myers Fire Department responded to a structure fire Friday afternoon in Lee County.

According to FMFD, shortly before 2 p.m., multiple crews from FMFD responded to a fire at 2524 Congress Street in Fort Myers.

At the scene, crews saw smoke from a second-floor apartment.

Crews suddenly grabbed a hose to go on the offensive and put the fire out.

The fire, quickly extinguished by Rescue 11 using a water can, was located in the kitchen of the second-floor apartment.

Nobody was harmed in the fire and everyone made it out of the apartment safely.

The fire was taken care of thanks to, FMFD, Battalion 11, Engine 11, Rescue 11, Engine 13, Battalion 10, Ladder 16, Engine 12, and City 5.
