FMFD crews leaving on the scene of a fire on Congress Street. CREDIT: FMFD The Fort Myers Fire Department responded to a structure fire Friday afternoon in Lee County. According to FMFD, shortly before 2 p.m., multiple crews from FMFD responded to a fire at 2524 Congress Street in Fort Myers. At the scene, crews saw smoke from a second-floor apartment. Smoke seen coming from the second floor of the building. CREDIT: FMFD Crews suddenly grabbed a hose to go on the offensive and put the fire out. The fire, quickly extinguished by Rescue 11 using a water can, was located in the kitchen of the second-floor apartment. Nobody was harmed in the fire and everyone made it out of the apartment safely. Crews arrive at the scene.
