Dry Saturday forecast in store ahead of potentially rainy First Alert Weather Day Sunday

Highs Saturday will range from the upper 40s in the mountains to lower 60s in Charlotte.
Saturday will be sunny and dry before the chances for wet weather return on Sunday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Next week will not be a washout, but we will get several chances for rain over the next seven days.

  • First Alert Weather Day Sunday: Cloudy, wet and cooler.
  • Monday: Becoming partly sunny, mild.
  • Tuesday: Cloudy, scattered showers.

After a beautiful day of sunshine and warmer temperatures, we are gearing up for some rain to head our way tomorrow.

Sunday's Futurecast(WBTV First Alert Weather)

With more cloud cover moving into our area, tonight will not be as cold ranging from the upper 20s in the mountains to mid 30s in Charlotte.

On Sunday there will be one round of that moves through during the morning hours, along and north of I-85. The second wave of rain will begin late in the afternoon and continue into the overnight hours.

Highs on Sunday will be cooler in the mid to upper 50s.

Showers will taper off before sunrise on Monday, giving way to partly sunny skies and warmer conditions with highs in the lower 60s.

On Tuesday, there will be a chance for some scattered showers as a cold front pushes east, otherwise expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 50s.

Wednesday and Thursday we’ll be tracking another system moving east out of the Great Plains. This system will bring more widespread rainfall into the Carolinas. Highs will be cooler in the 40s and 50s.

Next Friday there will be a slight chance for some isolated showers otherwise expect partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 50s.
