Here's everything you need to know heading into the game:
1. The Canadiens will have to wait for their first win of the season in their powder blue Reverse Retro jersey after dropping a 4-3 decision to the Detroit Red Wings at the Bell Centre on Thursday. Forwards Michael Pezzetta, Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Alex Belzile collected seven points (3 G, 4 A) in the loss. Enjoying a three-point night with a pair of tallies and an assist Harvey-Pinard has notched four points (3 G, 1 A) in five games since being recalled from the Laval Rocket. Belzile has also impressed with four helpers in three games, while Pezzetta has recorded one goal and two assists in his last three outings. Goaltender Jake Allen, who returned to action after missing eight games due to an upper-body injury, made 38 saves against the Red Wings.

  1. Meanwhile, the Senators triumphed in the Battle of Ontario with a crushing 6-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Friday. The visiting team scored four unanswered goals to break a 2-2 tie in the second period. Thomas Chabot, Brady Tkachuk (2), Derick Brassard, Drake Batherson and Claude Giroux each scored. Netminder Anton Forsberg made 31 saves. The Senators are seventh in the Atlantic Division, just above their Quebec counterparts with 47 points in 48 games.
    3. The Habs held practice at the Bell Centre before hopping on the train to the Canadian capital on Friday. Seventeen players, including eight forwards, eight defensemen, and two goaltenders, hit the ice. Forwards Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach and Christian Dvorak opted for a therapy day instead of partaking in the on-ice session.
    4. Tonight's game will be the second of four this season between the two clubs. D.J. Smith's squad edged Martin St-Louis' contingent on December 14 with a 3-2 win in Ottawa. Dach and Dvorak scored for the visitors, while goaltender Sam Montembeault made 28 saves in the losing cause.
