"The Fiend" is dead. Long live "The Fiend."
Bray Wyatt introduced his alter ego "The Fiend" to the wrestling world in the summer of 2019, starting a nearly two-year run that included a WWE Universal Title reign, an infamous Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins, the inclusion of Alexa Bliss, setting himself on fire, and much more.
Since Wyatt has returned to WWE at WWE Extreme Rules 2022, there have been elements of "The Fiend" present on television, but according to Wyatt, "The Fiend" is dead.
"The Fiend died that day in Tampa, Florida and WrestleMania, to me. The Fiend is not just a goof in a mask, like people think, that's just ridiculous. To me, it's so much more, and once you see where all these things come from, how they molded me as a human being, but he died that day, to me. It can never be again. It's gone. I don't know how people will react to that, but in my head, it's gone forever. Alexa, to me, is kind of like the last shining thing in that. His last happy moment. You can look into that however you want. It sucks, but that's the way it is," Wyatt told Ryan Satin of Fox Sports.
Bliss turned on "The Fiend" at WrestleMania 37 as she oozed black from her forehead, leading to Randy Orton picking up the victory.
Wyatt hasn't wrestled since WrestleMania 37, but will return to the ring in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black match against LA Knight at WWE Royal Rumble.
