BAY HARBOR — The Great Lakes Center for the Arts has announced its 2023 Gala, set for July 8, will feature the rock and roll band Chicago live in concert.

The gala is the center’s largest fundraising event of the year, and organizers said the proceeds support performing arts experiences and impactful educational opportunities in Northern Michigan.

The evening will include cocktails, a VIP dinner with a live auction, and Chicago live in concert. After the show, guests are encouraged to head upstairs to the Rooftop Afterparty, sponsored by Todd Wenzel Automotive, to dance and enjoy craft cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

The Great Lakes Center for the Arts is located at 800 Bay Harbor Dr. in Bay Harbor.

“Our annual gala is an important fundraiser for the center — the proceeds allow us to offer year-round performing arts experiences for all in Northern Michigan, including a full season of performances for our region’s youth offered at no cost,” said executive director Matthew Kacergis. “It’s also our biggest performance of the season, with previous years featuring performances by Gladys Knight, the Detroit Symphony, John Fogerty and many others. Chicago has played some of the largest venues in the world and just may be our biggest show yet!”

Tickets for the concert and afterparty are $350, of which $150 is considered a tax-deductible donation. Gala sponsorships are also available for both individuals and corporations starting at $1,500. Sponsorships are on sale now, and tickets will go on sale Feb. 15.
