Woman killed when two vehicles collide, crash into her in South Austin

CHICAGO — A woman is dead after being struck by two vehicles while crossing the street in South Austin, Chicago police said Friday.

According to family, the woman who died was 25-year-old Jennifer Kelleher. She was working as an Uber Eats delivery driver on the side to earn extra money to help raise her 1-year-old son. Kelleher was on her last delivery route of the night when she was fatally hit crossing the road.

According to police, around 5:45 p.m., in the 5000 block of West Washington Boulevard, a white-colored SUV was traveling westbound on Washington when it struck a black-colored sedan traveling eastbound on Washington.

The impact caused both vehicles to crash into Kelleher. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

A GoFundMe has been created to help support the family.

Both vehicles fled the scene and no one is in custody.
