Another week down, another week closer to Sectional play in Boy's and Girl's High School Hoops. Some teams have been downright dominant this season, and nothing changed on Friday night.
ALBANY @ SCHENECTADY (GIRL'S BASKETBALL)
We'll start things off in Girl's Basketball. Schenectady playing host to the top-ranked team in the state right now, Albany.
This one was close early on. The Lady Patriots starting fast as Jalyssa Terry sinks a smooth floater. She'd have a team high 7 points in this one. But Albany came storming back, how about Taliyha Braxton with a tough two. The Falcons are 13-1 on the season for a reason, speed and athleticism, and both were on display in this one. Braxton wasn't done yet, she'll try it from three point land and bury a corner three.
Albany runs away with this one and remain dominant 72-33.
CBA @ NISKAYUNA (BOY'S BASKETBALL)
In Boy's Basketball, we had CBA traveling to take on Niskayuna. Packed house tonight, and this one was a low scoring battle. Every posession mattered.
Early on, the Silver Warriors would jump out in front, that's the big man Gavin Olsen from three. But on the other end of the court, CBA would respond in a big way. Ore Odutayo would cut to the basket and throw down the one handed slam. This kid can fly, and he wasn't done there. A few minute later, off the missed jumper, guess who comes flying in for the putback dunk, Odutayo wow. Highlight reel stuff! This gave CBA some life, but Nisky was able to push off of turnovers and score in the paint with ease all game.
The Silver Warriors find a way to fight off the Brothers 45-40.
