THE MILWAUKEE POLICE DEPARTMENT POSTED A SAFETY MESSAGE ON TWITTER ON HOW TO AVOID CAR THEFT IN MILWAUKEE’S DOWNTOWN. THEY SAY THEY NOTICED A CRIME TREND IN CAR ROBBERIES BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 4 TO 7PM AND 11 PM TO 2 AM. THE SUSPECTS USUALLY DRIVE STOLEN KIAS OR HYNDAIS. THEY RECOMMEND PARKING IN WELL LIT AREAS WHERE A CAMERA MAY BE PRESENT, KEEPING DISTRACTIONS MINIMAL, MAKING SU

Milwaukee police have sent out a 'Situational Awareness Bulletin' warning of a crime trend in the downtown entertainment area.Police say armed robberies and entry to autos are happening between the hours of 4 p.m., 7 p.m., 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. possibly driving stolen Kia's and or Hyundai's and targeting personal property of other vehicles.Police recommend parking in well lite areas with cameras, not leaving valuables in your vehicles.Police say if you see suspicious activity to call 414-933-4444.
