WB City announces live ice sculpture carving demonstration on Feb. 3

WILKES-BARRE — Wilkes-Barre Mayor George C. Brown announced that there will be a live ice carving demonstration on Friday, Feb. 3, from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.

Additional ice sculptures will be on display all weekend.

Free hot chocolate will be provided, courtesy of Dunkin’ Wilkes-Barre.

Ice skates will be available free of charge, in exchange for state-issued drivers licenses or identification cards, which will be returned upon skate return for use on the ice rink on Public Square Friday, Feb. 3, from 5-8 p.m.

Skaters are also welcome to wear their own skates.

Ice skaters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.

Skates available this weekend at rink

The city also will provide free ice skates for use on the rink today and Sunday, from 12-4 p.m.

The ice-skating rink is also be open (weather-permitting) to the public during normal park hours of dawn to dusk and ice-skaters are also welcomed to wear their own skates.
