HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Dennis-Yarmouth boys basketball holds off Sandwich's comeback bid

The Dennis-Yarmouth High boys basketball team appeared to be coasting to a win over Sandwich on Friday with a 19-point halftime lead.

The Blue Knights outscored the Dolphins 29-14 in the second half, but D-Y escaped with a 48-44 victory.

In the loss, Cam O'Malley (13 points, 7 rebounds), Cole Rodgers (12 points, 6 rebounds) and Connor Finn (9 points, 5 assists) played well in the loss.

Boys Basketball

Rising Tide 38, Sturgis West 26: Sturgis West falls to 0-11.

Bourne 73, Case 44: Leo Andrade (19 points) and Nate Reynolds (16) led the way for the Canalmen (10-3, 7-2 in South Coast Conference).

Cape Cod Academy 62, Monomoy 42: Tamarr Washington finished with a game-high 21 points and 5 steals and Michael Santos added 15 points and 7 rebounds for CCA (7-7). Mike Berry added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Finn Hyora scored 10 points for the Sharks.

New Bedford 68, Barnstable 61: The Red Hawks dropped the non-league game.

Girls Basketball

Monomoy 58, Cape Cod Academy 26: Kiley Mawn scored 12 points to lead the Sharks (9-5, 4-0) to the win. All 10 Monomoy players scored.

Cape Cod Tech 36, Bristol Aggie 19: Lashae Miranda led the way for the Crusaders (6-4) with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Gianna Lubash (8 points, 15 rebounds) and Christina Okuniewicz (2 points, 20 rebounds) had big rebounding nights. Julianna Santana added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists.

Mashpee 65, Nantucket 31: The Falcons won the non-league game behind 33 points from Hialeah Turner Foster. Stella Stecei finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Eighth-grader Mia Fougere played well in her first varsity start.

Falmouth 28, Nauset 25: Teagan Lind scored 15 points in the win for the Clippers.

Bourne 55, Case 42: Paige Meda scored 17 points and Raeghan Blake added 13 points for the Canalwomen (10-2). The win locks up a tournament spot for Bourne. Elena Timo chipped in 8 points.

Sandwich 39, Dennis-Yarmouth 28: The Blue Knights defeated the Dolphins.

Swimming

Cape and Islands Championships: Nauset's Ella Woods defended her league title in diving. She broke a league record with an 11-dive score of 460.65.

Wrestling

Sandwich tri-meet: The Blue Knights picked up wins over Pembroe (36-27) and Josiah Quincy (46-32) but lost to Cohasset (57-24). Gavon Potter, Luke Steele and Oakley Gully went 3-0 on the day.
