The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t waste much time getting going during Friday’s road game against the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks scored 45 points in the opening quarter and 85 over the first two. In doing so, Milwaukee made NBA history.
Prior to Friday, the Bucks were last on the road on Monday against the Detroit Pistons. That game followed a similar script, with Milwaukee scoring 83 points in the first half. ESPN Stats & Info tweeted on Friday that “the Bucks are the first team in NBA history to score 80+ points in the first half of consecutive road games.”

The uptick in offensive production leads to a natural question. What’s led to this?
Milwaukee’s competition is certainly a factor. The Pistons have the worst record in the Eastern Conference and while the Pacers are in postseason contention, they entered Friday’s game with a 24-26 record.
Another factor, though, has to be the return of Khris Middleton. Monday’s game in Detroit was Middleton’s first game after missing more than a month of action. When Middleton is active, the rest of the floor opens up for Milwaukee’s other top players. Clearly, that’s had something to do with the team’s recent historic offensive performances.
