Volunteers spread across Tulsa to try to get a better sense of how many people in Tulsa are homeless.

Community members teamed up with local outreach programs to conduct a count of sheltered and unsheltered people in our city.
Housing solution officials say last year they counted roughly 1,000 people and are expecting to see a slight increase this year.
Their goal is to gather information about the homeless population in order to create strategies that would make homelessness in Tulsa rare, brief and non-recurring.
Josh Sanders, the director of outreach with Housing Solutions Tulsa says volunteers came out to support in big numbers. Teams will conduct their last count Saturday afternoon.
