THANK YOU, CHRIS. NEW AT SIX, ONE OF THE STATE’S LARGEST EMPLOYERS IS PRETTY MUCH MOVING OUT OF DOWNTOWN DES MOINES. WELLS FARGO FINANCIAL ANNOUNCED TODAY THE MAY THE MAJORITY OF ITS NINE CUSTOMER FACING EMPLOYEE YEARS WILL GO TO THE JORDAN CREEK CAMPUS IN WEST DES MOINES. WHILE IT REEVALUATE ITS REAL ESTATE INVESTMENTS, A SMALL NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES WILL REMAIN DOWNTOWN AT 801 WALNUT. BUT HE SAID THAT OFFICES AT 800 WALNUT AND EIGHTH STREET AND WEST TOWN PARKWAY WILL ALL CLOSE. COMPANY SAYS NO JOBS ARE BEING CUT. One of the state's largest employers moving most of its offices out of downtown Des Moines. Wells Fargo Financial Services announced Friday that the majority of its non-customer facing employees are going to the company's Jordan Creek Campus in West Des Moines while it re-evaluates its real estate investments. A small number of employees will remain downtown at the 801 Walnut Street facility.The Wells Fargo offices at 206 8th Street, 800 Walnut and 7001 Westown Parkway, will all close.The company said no job are being cut.Wells Fargo is now considering what to do with the empty office space. Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie called the decision "difficult and frustrating." He said the city's Development Services team will help fill the economic void.
