Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire has said he would be keen for another return following his No Way Home cameo.

The actor reprised his role as Peter Parker in the 2021 Marvel blockbuster, appearing alongside Andrew Garfield's iteration as they joined forces with Tom Holland's MCU iteration.

Speaking about the experience as part of the the Spider-Man No Way Home: The Official Movie Special book, Maguire recalled: "When they called initially, I was like, finally! [Laughs] I got the call and was immediately open about coming to do this.

"Not without nerves – you know, 'What will this look like and what will the experience be?' But to get to show up with beautiful, talented, creative people and play together? It’s just like, 'Yes!' It’s fun and exciting.

"I love these films and I love all of the different series," he continued, further expressing hope that he could get a callback for another cameo.

"If these guys called me and said, 'Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?' or 'Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?', it would be a 'yes!' Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?" the star added.

Speaking last year, Maguire called appearing in No Way Home a "rich experience", saying: "The kind of sharing of something and the brotherhood of it. It was just so rich, emotional.

"I'm not sitting there conceptually thinking about that all the time, but I would have moments where that kind of stuff would hit me. You know, day to day, it was just a beautiful kind of unfolding of this story and these relationships.

"And the way those films and characters evolved in those films are unique, and then to bring all of that together, including all of our supervillains and all of that, it was pretty wild to witness the immensity of all of this history coming together and being put into what Andrew was saying is this standalone, worthwhile story."

Meanwhile, last year a potential fourth Spider-Man MCU movie was given a disappointing update, with Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman telling The Hollywood Reporter: "When you can expect it, I don't know. Serve no wine before it's time."
