TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Tempe police say an argument ended with one person being shot at a Tempe motel early Wednesday morning. Officers were called out to the Super 8 motel on Apache Boulevard, east of Rural Road around 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, paramedics found a person, who has not been identified, with two gunshot wounds. Officers say that person was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect took off from the scene just before police arrived. At this time, detectives believe that the suspect and a victim had some sort of argument that escalated. Video from the scene showed officers actively securing the crime scene as they work to gather details on a possible suspect. Police say this was an isolated incident and that there is no public threat.

BUCKEYE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Three people, including two teens, were injured after a shooting at a house party in Buckeye on Saturday night. Just before midnight, Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies were called after gunshots were heard during a house party near 193rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street, just east of Jackrabbit Trail. MCSO says at least three victims were shot, including one adult and two teens. All victims drove themselves to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

SURPRISE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Authorities say a man is dead after a shooting involving officers at a Walmart parking lot in Surprise Tuesday afternoon. Around 12:20 p.m., Surprise police were called about an unwanted guest in a Walmart parking lot near Grand Avenue and Bell Road. Officers arrived and found a man sitting in the backseat of a car with the door open and tried to talk to him. Police say the man was yelling and argumentative, so the officers asked the man to get out of the vehicle. According to investigators, that’s when the man yelled at officers, “I have a gun,” and reached under a pile of personal items. Officers fired at the man, killing him.

Gina Winn, officers were called out to the area of 51st Avenue and Peoria after two cars crashed into each other around 2:30 a.m. Investigators say they believe that two vehicles were racing along Peoria when they allegedly ran the red light. where one of them crashed into another vehicle that then rolled over several times before coming to a stop. Police say at that point, the suspect’s vehicle burst into flames. Those inside the suspect’s car took off on foot but were later found at a nearby hospital. The suspect reportedly suffered serious injuries while the victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to court paperwork, Corinna Theresa Dietz bought a home with her mother in 2019, and the deed was written that if the house was sold, Dietz would get all the money. But the mother moved and wrote the money from the sale would be put in a trust where Dietz and her sister would get the money. Police said Dietz didn’t know of the change, so when her mother died and sold the home, she became “enraged” that she’d have to split the money with her sister. On March 20, Dietz recorded herself pouring gasoline throughout the house and lighting five different fires, according to court paperwork.
