Former footballer and Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Scott has unveiled a huge new hair transformation.

Sharing the post on her Instagram Alex debuted a chic long bob, marking a significant change from her usual long wavy hair. "Allow me to re-introduce myself... We are calling her Bobbi," she captioned the post.

Friends of the presenter complimented her on the new hairdo: "I love it Al x," commented The One Show's Alex Jones. Countdown star Carol Vorderman added: "OMG I love her."

One follower was also quick to notice the jokey reference to the SpongeBob SquarePants image she posted alongside the pictures of her hair. "Looks good..SpongeBob....I get it now," they wrote.

Alex is best known for career as a professional footballer, playing internationally for the England women's side. Following the end of her playing career, Alex went on to appear on the 2019 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

She was partnered with professional dancer Neil Jones, making it to week 11 before being eliminated from the competition.

Scott has also worked as a presenter across multiple shows for the BBC, including The One Show, BBC’s Children in Need and Football Focus.

She recently presented the coverage for the Women's Euros 2022, cheering on the Lionesses' as they lifted the trophy for the first time ever in a Euro final.

"They're so relatable, they've all been on a journey, hardship, struggle, overcoming stuff, and those are role models," she said.

"They're real, they follow their passion, their heart and this is where it's led them."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
