Utah Puts Win-Streak to the Test at Oregon Saturday Night

The Utes and Oregon Ducks are set to square off on Saturday, Jan.28, at 6 p.m. (MT) on Pac-12 Networks.

EUGENE, Ore. – The Utah men's basketball team will put its three-game wins-streak on the line this Saturday, Jan. 28, when it battles the Ducks of Oregon inside Matthew Knight Arena.

Ted Robinson will have the call alongside Bill Walton as the Runnin' Utes look to secure just its second sweep of the Oregon school on the road since joining the league on Pac-12 Networks.

YEAR-OVER-YEAR
With the win on Thursday, Utah doubled its total victories in league play from last year (4-16) with nine games remaining in Pac-12 action. The last time the Runnin' Utes doubled its total wins in league play year-over-year was when it went 7-9 (1989-90) in WAC play and followed with a 15-1 record in conference play in 1990-91.

OREGON TRAIL
The Oregon trip has been a bugaboo for the Runnin' Utes. Utah have only swept the Oregon schools once (2017-18) in eight tries and have only split the weekend once as well (2014-15). That win during that 2014-15 season came against Oregon State – which it played first.

LAST TIME OUT
The Utah defense showed up and showed out on the first leg of its trip on Thursday, holding Oregon state to just 44 points in its victory inside Gill Coliseum. The Utes held OSU to just 16 points in the first half, the lowest against an opponent in league play since doing the same to the Beavers on the road back on Feb. 19, 2015, when it held Oregon State to just 14 first-half points.

UP NEXT
The Runnin' Utes return home to the friendly confines of the Jon M. Huntsman Center for a three-game homestand. Utah will first welcome in Stanford on Thursday, Feb. 2, for a 6 p.m. (MT) bout on Pac-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein and Don MacLean on the call for its MUSS Appreciation game. The Utes will then close out the weekend with California for their Salute to Service game on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. on ESPNU with Dave Feldman and Adrian Branch guiding fans through the action.

LOOKING AHEAD
Utah will then have a standalone game with Colorado the following Saturday, Feb. 11, at home to wrap up the homestand at 8 p.m. (MT). Tim Neverett of the LA Dodgers will have the call in the first meeting between the Runnin' Utes and Buffs while Richie Schueler serves as the analyst in the FS1 broadcast.
