A woman who had $8,500 worth of property stolen from her hotel room in Shelton said she doesn’t care about getting any of it back except her hairless cat, Princess.

“She's my little baby. She's so attached to me,” said Shyanne, who asked not to use her last name.

She and Princess had never been apart for more than three days—until now.

“It’s killing me,” said Shyanne as she got emotional. “I’m trying to, you know, stay upbeat, but it’s hard.

Shyanne is from Florida and had been staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. She told News 12 that Sunday was her birthday, so that morning she left to get her nails done. Shyanne said when she returned, several things were gone from her room, including two designer bags, a pair of expensive shoes and her beloved cat.

“I don’t know if they just wanted her, or they wanted to sell her, breed her. I have no idea, but I just want her home,” Shyanne said.

Shelton police said there were no apparent signs of forced entry, but security cameras captured the possible suspect and the suspect’s car, a black sedan. They released pictures of both, with one showing a person who appears to be holding a blanket and wearing a gray hoodie, a mask, gloves and slide sandals with socks.

“They didn’t take her food, her litter. They didn’t take anything. They didn’t take her carrier. They didn’t take her clothes. It’s very heartbreaking,” Shyanne said as she tried to hold back tears.

She was supposed to fly home Monday, the day after celebrating her birthday. But there was no celebrating with what happened. Shyanne remains in the tri-state area, so she can be close while police investigate. A friend started a GoFundMe effort to help Shyanne pay for her extended trip. She said she has no plans to leave solo. She got Princess, who turns 2 in the spring, when the cat was 6 weeks old. Shyanne said she especially worries because Princess is allergic to a lot of things.

“Just keep praying. Please. As much as you guys can, whoever you believe in, just pray to them for me,” Shyanne told News 12. “Pray for her safe return and just me, my peace of mind, please, because I’m really going through it.”
