Zion calls being named All-Star starter 'an honor'

Williamson is currently dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered on January 2.

NEW ORLEANS — Zion Williamson says that he is honored to be named a starter for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City on February 19.

"I picked up my phone, saw the notification... it was a moment, it was crazy," Williamson said, referring to when he officially saw the news.

"It's an honor, being named an All-Star. And being named a starter this time around, especially after last year? It's just crazy."

Williamson is currently dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered on January 2, but says that rehab is going well and that he intends to play in the All-Star Game if he's physically able to do so.

On Tuesday, the Pelicans announced that Williamson would be "reevaluated" in two weeks, allowing the team to potentially ease him back in the lineup.
