Extra deputies at Florence Co. courthouse after bullets found in bathroom

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) —
There are 14 deputies standing guard inside and around the Florence County Judicial Center after five bullets were found in a bathroom trash can, according to Florence County Sheriff T.J. Joye.

Joye said the center's maintenance employee found the bullets.
He added that several deputies were already at the courthouse as part of their daily duties.

These officers are required to screen people through a metal detector as they enter the building and before they head to any part of the courthouse.
Joye said deputies searched for a weapon but didn't find one.

He added the additional officers will remain at the courthouse until it closes as a precaution.
