The City of Eugene will hold an open house to update the community on the latest design and get feedback on the Franklin Boulevard Transformation project.
Members of the community are invited to drop in anytime on Thursday, February 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Ford Alumni Center Ballroom at 1720 E. 13th Avenue in Eugene.
"Once a state highway, Franklin Boulevard has wide vehicle lanes and lacks safe and comfortable infrastructure for people walking, biking, and rolling. The current design encourages high travel speeds that act as a significant barrier for people traveling by foot, bus and bike. Planning to redesign Franklin Blvd began in early 2019, aiming to transform it into a multimodal corridor complete with protected and connected bikeways, sidewalks, intersections, and dual EmX lanes."
"Throughout the planning process, the community provided valuable feedback that was incorporated into each phase of the design. The February 2023 Open House seeks to update community members who have previously engaged with the project, introduce the project to new community members, and ask for feedback on the current design iteration. Community input will be incorporated into the design as it moves forward from planning to engineering."
For those who can’t make the in-person open house, an online option will be available on the city's website.
