A new bar and restaurant is now open in Covington.

The Well Covington, located at 8 West Seventh St., opened in the Northern Kentucky city Thursday. The concept comes from owners Will Hodges and Chase Daoud, and chef Mitch Arens, the former executive chef at Hotel Covington.

“The Well is a new bar concept by two friends who wanted to create something special,” Hodges said in a press statement. “Everyone is welcome with open arms at the Well Covington. We are your friendly neighborhood patio bar that implements modern amenities to seamlessly form a unique entertainment venue.”

The space features ample indoor seating with multiple lounges, TVs for sporting events and private event space. More seating can be found on the patio, which also has fire pits and two AstroTurf areas.

The bar's restaurant is called Grub Local and is owned by chef Arens. The menu offers twists on American classics and local favorites, such as hanky panky balls, mock turtle soup and a jumbo cheese coney.

“Our passion is putting only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients on your plate and in your mouth,” Arens said. “So, if small bites are your thing, Grub Local is your new kink.”

The Well Covington is open Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
