Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+ has finally announced who's playing the gods Poseidon and Zeus.
The role of Poseidon, ruler of the sea, will be played by Die Another Day's Toby Stephens. Zeus, god of the sky and thunder and Mount Olympus leader, will be portrayed by John Wick star Lance Reddick.
Variety confirmed this casting news, with the series now shooting in Vancouver. Original author Rick Riordan has co-written the pilot.

A description for Poseidon, who is also Percy's father, reads: "Although seemingly absent in Percy's life, many of Poseidon's qualities live in Percy: stubbornness, impulsiveness and loyalty. Though he has stayed away throughout Percy's life, his deep feelings for his son (and Percy's mother, Sally) are evident."
Meanwhile, Zeus will be "tempestuous and mistrustful" in the series, promising to "wage a war if his stolen thunderbolt is not returned" sharpish.

Young demigod Percy is being played by Walker Scobell, with the character described as someone who's "just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers" before being accused of taking Zeus' master thunderbolt.
"With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus,” the plot description continues.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, WWE legend Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer and Jessica Parker Kennedy are also part of the cast.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians doesn't yet have a Disney+ release date.
